As with our own health the best approach for our pet’s health is to be proactive and have regular check-ups; depending on the age and type of pet this will determine the frequency of the check-ups. Many of the conditions to check for are similar to those for ourselves like kidney and liver function, diabetes, lung function and the early signs of cancer and joint deterioration i.e swelling, sore joints, unusual bumps and lumps that maybe an indication of something more serious.

What very often is overlooked is dental health the source of many health issues for both pets and ourselves; we may not link dental health to our general health and well-being but the reality is dental health is fundamental to our general and overall good health.

As part of our regular routine maintenance of a pets coat and skin an awareness of fleas and parasites both internal and external is essential to maintain their good health and well-being. Prevention is always better than an expensive cure.

Under the heading of what’s good for the goose is good for the gander; what is good for our pets is very often good for us; a healthy diet, regular exercise, plenty of rest and healthy sleeping environment.

As our pets progress along the path of life their dietary needs change as their activity levels decrease they require more balanced nutrients and fibre to support joint health and metabolism.

As mobility decreases and energy levels decline Silberhorn PetVel and Pet Recovery and or Petmussel may benefit your pet’s quality of life through their senior years. These products are also a great promoter of good health throughout a dog or cats life.
