Base:
125gm melted butter
3 medium apples, grated
1½ cups flour
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon mixed allspice
Beat first 4 ingredients together with a fork. Stir in remaining ingredients and place in a 23cm square
cake tin.
Topping:
25gm butter
½ cup rolled oats
¼ cup sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Melt the butter and mix in the rolled oats, sugar and cinnamon. Pour over the base and bake 180° for 40-45 mins. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream, Greek yoghurt or ice cream.
